Welcome to Louisa Adams Sports & Remedial Massage

The SDW17 "South Downs Way Challenge" Event at The Southdown Sports Club
To team sports players, gym enthusiasts and weekend warriors.... Through to complete beginners who have just signed up for gym membership, or recently started a new exercise class - and are now experiencing aches and pains from muscles they aren't used to working (aka DOMS - Delayed Onset Muscular Soreness).
I also treat many PT's and sport/exercise class coaches to help them recover from the daily physical demand they put on their bodies.
Whether you're an elite athlete or you're beginning training for that first 5k, regardless of what or how much activity you do, Sports, Remedial & Deep Tissue massage has huge benefits to all.
But, you don't have to be Sporty!
I am a qualified, experienced and fully insured Sports and Remedial Massage practitioner. I am Pitchside & First-Aid trained, and a long standing member of The FHT & Sports Therapy Association. I was previously based at the Sports Centre at The University of Sussex. I now work from my own studio in the heart of the South Downs in the village of Kingston near Lewes, East Sussex - as well as working at many sporting events across the county.

My role in your recovery
Sports Massage, despite the name, isn't just for sports people! It is a deep, beneficial treatment for all soft tissue aches, pains and restricted movements. I treat clients of all ages, backgrounds, and activity levels. From Olympic powerlifters, Olympic track runners, Pro-sports people, and elite athletes who are training for matches, races and competitions...

The Brighton Marathon, supporting the "Mind" Charity
You might be surprised to hear that lots of my clients don't partake in any sporting activity at all! During times of stress, many of my clients book in because they simply want effective pain relief by having their shoulders and neck loosened.

So, although it's named "Sports" Massage - it doesn't mean you have to be sporty to benefit from treatment. Originally developed with athletes in mind, Sports Massage is highly effective at targeting the musculoskeletal system and reducing tension build up in areas that are causing you discomfort or poor movement patterns.
I help students and sedentary office workers who suffer from headaches and tension in their upper body as a result of sitting at a computer for most of the day...

I help elderly patients with limited mobility... People struggling with their posture... New parents whose bodies are adapting to carrying the weight of a new-born...
I also treat people who aren't necessarily "sporty" but who have active occupations and lifestyles requiring them to be on their feet all day - such as builders, gardeners and agricultural workers who get sore and achy from performing repetitive movements on a regular basis, such as lifting, digging, kneeling, twisting, and shovelling...

Post-Event Sports Massage at a RIPTIDE Pro-Wrestling Match
And the list goes on, and on, and on!
The range and diversity of people who walk through my door is huge, and I firmly believe that anyone can benefit from a Sports Massage.

Whether you want to avoid the little injuries/niggles that restrict your movement, relieve your aches and pains, or need help preparing for peak athletic performance, I can help.
Each treatment is tailored to your individual needs, and I will work with you to address areas that are tight and need loosening, and/or weak and need strengthening. My priority is to get you back into doing what you enjoy as quickly as possible!
